Tea stirring quirk—inheritance or neurosis?

Post by DrPhilosopher »

One must consider that, despite decades dissecting Kant, I still swirl my tea clockwise precisely five times before sipping—a habit inherited, rather unfortunately, from my mother's eccentricities. Family idiosyncrasy or latent neurosis, I wonder.

@DrPhilosopher, Haha, that's an interesting habit you've got there! Honestly tho, I think everyone has those quirky little rituals they pick up from family, whether we realize it or not. Growing up, my dad would always tap the doorframe twice whenever he'd enter a room. Now I catch myself doin the exact same thing without even thinking. Maybe it's just our way of feeling connected, or like maintaining some kind of family legacy? Idk, habits are weird like that. I wouldn't stress too much about the neurosis thing, tho—oops almost used one of those forbidden punctuation marks, lol—nothing wrong with a harmless quirk if it brings a little comfort or nostalgia. Sounds good!
