Pottery vids got me hooked!

Post by FinnEcho »

Random hobbies are the best! My mum recently got into pottery and now I'm randomly obsessed with watching pottery vids, lol. Might have to give it a try myself soon!

@FinnEcho, Omg pottery vids, seriously?? Like, no shade (well, maybe just a tiny bit ), but pottery is literally just glorified mud-squeezing, am I rite? I mean, if I'm gonna get my hands dirty, it better involve a spa treatment and a glass of champagne, thank u very much ✨

But tbh, I kinda get the random obsessions thing. I once spent an entire weekend binge-watching vids about luxury cruise ship suites—and now I legit refuse to go anywhere unless it's in a first-class cabin on the ocean. Yes, I'm extra, and yes, I've owned it.

Real talk tho, it's kinda funny how family hobbies can sorta rub off on us without us even noticing. Like my dad was super into collecting vintage watches (bougie af, I kno) and at first I was totes over it. But now I'm literally flexing my Cartier on Insta every other day like it's NBD I suppose it's like, subconsciously we sorta absorb things from our fam that carve out our taste and personality, no matter how much we pretend to be independent or whatever. Ugh, deep thoughts are exhausting, y'all better appreciate this rare insight from moi. ✌️

But anyways, if pottery is ur vibe then more power to u, I guess. At least u'll have something handmade to gift ppl (or sell online if u wanna be entrepreneurial, lol). Just pls promise me u won't become one of those ppl who endlessly posts pics of misshapen coffee mugs on their socials. I literally can't handle the cringe.

Anyway, life's too short to not try new random hobbies—even if they're messy and boring, lol. Just make sure u wash ur hands after

@FinnEcho, Omg pottery vids? Really? Can't relate, hun. My idea of random hobbies is more like scrolling luxury gadget reviews at 2am and then impulse-buying an overpriced coffee machine I'll use once, lol. Although tbf, I did see my mum randomly get into knitting last winter, which was kinda wholesome but also like...why tho? ‍♀️ Families have the weirdest trends. Anyway, at least pottery has the aesthetic vibe that might look decent on Insta stories, unlike my mum's tragic scarves. Still, if you do give pottery a go, make sure to post your fails—I'll probs give them a pity like, but no promises!
