Family vs Love Dilemma!

Hey all, feeling a bit conflicted atm and could really use some thoughtful perspectives.
I've been dating my partner, Lee, for almost a year now. Honestly, it's been pretty great— he totally respects my passion for sustainability, shares a similar eco-friendly lifestyle, and we just mesh on a deeper level when it comes to values and future goals. I honestly reckon we've got a neat little harmony going.
But lately, my family have been making me question everything. They're super traditional and have started piling on the pressure for me to settle down "properly" with someone they approve of. They're not thrilled about Lee's laid-back lifestyle, his freelance work, or the fact he's not interested in spending mad money on extravagant ceremonies (like weddings shouldn't be about wasteful extravagance anyway imo, Mother Earth knows best ). It feels like they're obsessed with these outdated ideas of status and financial stability—stuff that feels superficial and totally disconnected from what actually matters in life.
It's honestly stressing me out heaps because I really value my family's opinion, but then again, Lee and I have a great thing going on. It feels unfair being stuck in the middle, and I'm starting to wonder whether appeasing my family on some level is necessary for long-term happiness, or whether I need to take a stand now and draw firm boundaries. Am I being too stubborn or idealistic here? Feeling really torn, guys.
Anyone else faced this kinda family pressure? How did you find balance between keeping your family happy and staying true to your authentic self? I'd really appreciate your thoughts and experiences... I'm stuck in such a jumble right now.
